Fundraising is a big part of the efforts of taking part in the challenge, and will need some planning and attention! There are 3 main ways of doing it:
1. Talk to people and refer them to your fundraising page (see below).
2. Display, or take along wherever you go, Sponsorship Forms where people can pledge their donation to you. These are cash or cheque donations and administering this is essential.
3. By far the most efficient and effective way, is to use online methods to raise money. It’s quick and free to send around, and prompts people to donate immediately, especially when using images and humour. You can create your own Justgiving page by going to www.justgiving.com and make sure to mention the proper event name: The London to Istanbul Bike Challenge. You can also go to www.justgiving.com/london-istanbul and use the format to make it your own.
